To the girl preparing for 2017: Daily Prayers for next year day 25

Planning for 2017? Let's start with 31 daily prayers for the future. Read day 25 of the month long prayer challenge.

Our Gracious Father,

“As we have time with family today celebrating the birth of you let us rejoice in the time we have with one another and the love that comes with it. We pray for everybody today to remember the true reason for the season. Let us all be thankful for the family you have placed us in. For those who aren’t blessed to be able to spend this day with their families, we pray they feel your presence and know they aren’t alone even if they feel like it. In times like these we pray for those who are lost- what a great time to start talking about your story! Help us make Christmas 2016 a day of spreading your story to those who need to hear it again or hear it for the first time. That is showing what love is and what a better Christmas present than that?

As 1 John 3:18 says, “My children, our love should not be only words and talk. No, our love must be real. We must show our love by the things we do.”  Father, help us show your love through our actions and not only our words. We pray we remember that people are always watching our actions more than what we say so, Lord, help us always think before we say or do anything. We ask that all our actions and words be a reflection of your grace and goodness. Let us remember and practice this in 2017 and continue on in the future. Lord, we continue to praise and love you always in all ways now and forever.”

In your name, Amen.
